Several weeks ago I found out that my warehouse's door (at the patio) were opened. I always forgot to closed it again... Apparently some lovey dovey make a nest inside it. And.... without my permissions, could you imagine that???
Hahaha... its a couple pigeon actually. I had a feeling about it already since few days ago. That day every morning, we always hear "kurr...kurrr" to wake us up :) kinda cute though hehehe... And today I ask my hubby to check our warehouse and closed the door but before he closed it, he called me and said "Look..." and there they are. It looks like the other pigeon (I don't know whether the hubby or wife) looking for some food and the other one protecting the nest ^^ cute right?
When I found them I kinda feel happy, "wow .. a bird nest, I never see a real bird nest this close". Because even though I go near it, it doesn't seems to move (maybe it trying to protect it's nest).
So I said to my husband, "Let them there .... :)"
But then after few minutes, I start to think over, wait..... If they make a nest over there, that means it should be an egg/s right? So the eggs will hatch and the baby birds need to grown up and learn how to fly and so on... When exactly I can close the door? ...
Happy yet confuse... and my hubby just laugh when I told him about the eggs and baby birds ...LoL

Spring
Two Years ago when I came to US, I was a healthy woman with no allergy at all. No food allergy, no weather allergy, no chemical or medicine allergy... nothing. But suddenly this spring brings me a new journey to be an allergies
.
My allergic reactions are mostly cough and sore throat. At first I though I was contagious, but when my doctor said that this cough is not, I get a bit relieved. For me the worst sickness that ever happened is cough. I hate cough, it can cause pain in my stomach and chest if I coughing repeatedly.
Thanks God, recently I went to Museum of Art with hubby and no cough was with me .. hahaha
I love this museum :) I wish it is near my place. If it is I can visit it often hahahaha XD .... i wish

Not Friday :)
Wow.. I see my list and realize its been two months since the last time I update my blog :). Got to be more consistence in doing this blog I guess haha...
Let see, so far in this two months what did I make ....
I make only three things.. Sacher torte, Bubur Candil (Sweet potato balls with coconut milk syrup), and Capjay hahaha... Why? I didn't know... I just suddenly stop baking.. :(
But somehow, that feeling .... want to bake something... its coming back again... Huraayy
Bubur Candil tastes so sweet, so usually we ate them with two - three spoons of cooked coconut milk ( the white one).
I wish I was not so lazy to make Bubur Sumsum ( Rice Flour Porridge) when I made this dish. Somehow the taste didn't as tasty as the one I ate back when I was in Surabaya... Lack of something, gotta keep trying ;)
Where did I got the recipe for this dish anyway.... Hmm I can't remember it ... Well, someone out there, thanks for sharing your recipe :D

The Freeday
Welcome back to Friday the Day....
Horray.... its friday again, it means time to bake or at least do what I want... :D
I went to have lunch with my friends and do some shopping at H-Mart (Korean Mart) today. So refreshing, I buy a sauteed Calamari kimchi, taste so good. The calamari is tender and the kimchi is spicy, I like it ^^
When I got home, I decide to use some of my leftover steak meat into something....
Decide...decide..decide..and I decided to make a Beef Red Wine Pie.
This is what is interesting... I don't have the exactly pie pan that the book asked for. And I also don't have a dry red wine for the filling. So I just switch the dry wine into chinese rice wine hahahaha.... lol, I know the taste would be far different but hei... at least worthed to try :D. And for the pan, I just use a mini silicone 1 3/4" wide instead of 9" pan.... and off course change the time to bake the pie, which is a gambling time XD
Is not as delicious as any bakery has.... but for me its a good new start to try do another one..
O, and one more thing.... When my husband taste them, I thought he was going to say, "oooo well the filling is good, but the pastry is not... bla bla bla".... but what do I know, instead of saying what I imagined of, he said "Honey, the pastry is gooddd, but the taste the filing is not strong enough.." O what do I know... I kinda happy when he said that....
Why?
Well because I've been trying to make this puff pastry sheets for many times, I guess 4 times including this one. After seeing some videos about the making of puff pastry and storing to refrigerator many times.... Finally the dough can works as what it was supposed to be.... hahaha
But I might have to consider to buy puff pastry from stores :p.... beside easier, it will be more clean at my kitchen. I guess......

New Year minus Two days
Last Christmas ......
My Hubby and I go to on of our friends house and celebrate Christmas Eve. We exchange gifts "White Elephant" which means, you can steal what your friends have for their gift and so on... lol, so funny, I never know this kind of game, funny....
Last Christmas........
I made some meringue, too bad I did not take a picture of them. It seems one of my friend's girlfriend like it, she even asked for the recipes. I just write it over from the book that I bought for $5.99 at Borders (on Bargain Sale). Speaking of Borders, it was my first time going there when I bought the book. When I saw the bargain sections, I really fly away hahaha.... so many cooking books there. And at that moment I decided I've got to comeback there again :D
So for you who like meringue, I just want to share this recipes (my first time to share recipes LoL)

3. Add 1/2 cup caster sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, beating well after each addition.
4. Beat until the mixture is thick and glossy and the sugar has dissolved (this will take up to 10 mins).

10. When the meringue already cool, deep the bottom side onto the melted chocolate and gather it with other meringue.
-When cold, store in an airtight jar. Makes 30 (according to the book, for me more than 30 since i did not use piping bag. I used plastic zip to pipe them)
